Meadowland Farms™ ground beef comes in a variety of lean points. The USDA has stated that ground beef, by definition, may not contain added fat, and may contain up to a "maximum total fat of 30 percent."* Meadowland Farms ground beef always contains lean, ground red meat with a low percentage of fat. The lean-to-fat ratio goes from extremely lean at 97% red meat to 3% fat, to 73% lean meat to 27% fat by volume. With the ability to measure the lean-to-fat ratio so precisely, you can now match exact lean points to recipe ingredients as called for.
